Bayer is proud to partner with local, regional and international groups to promote environmental learning.

  • International Children’s Painting Competition
Where can you find a global social program that unites art, science and education? Look no further than the 21st International Children’s Painting Competition, an annual event sponsored by Bayer Corporation, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Nikon Corporation.

More than 50 artworks, including the winning entries, will be on display at the Bayer-sponsored 2012 International Children’s Painting Competition (ICPC) North American Exhibition scheduled to open at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington D.C. on June 5, 2012. The competition features artworks created by Canadian and American students ages 6-14 on the theme, “Green Communities”. In addition, Bayer will be hosting an interactive environmental workshop for students led by Dr. Mae C. Jemison at Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington. Dr. Jemison is Bayer’s long-time spokesperson for Making Science Make Sense®, Bayer’s national, award-winning science literacy program as well as a scientist, educator and the nation’s first African-American woman astronaut.

  • International Summer Sustainability Camp
Bayer is proud to partner with RiverQuest to create the Bayer International Summer Sustainability Camp, which combines sustainability and science education to create a program addressing one of the biggest challenges the world faces today – climate change.

The camp brings together teens from around the world to learn about environmentalism and sustainability by researching and studying the rivers and ponds in Western Pennsylvania.
